SaeboGlove Key Components

Lycra finger panels are made of an elastic material to promote a breathable and intimate fit.

Tensioners assist the finger and thumb joints with extension. Five various sized tensioners allow for maximum adjustability and fit based on finger length and weakness.

Silicon liner minimises migration and maintains proper alignment. Anti-slip fingertips improve traction during grasping.

Unique spiral forearm design supports the wrist in a functional position.

Features & Benefits

  • Spiral forearm design that secures the wrist in a functional position.
  • Tensioners are located at the IP joints (interphalangeal joint) of the fingers and thumb to assist with extending the digits following grasping.

  • Numerous-sized tensioners included to accommodate various finger lengths.
  • Full joint finger motion possible to maximise functional performance.
  • Silicone-covered finger tips to improve traction during grasping.

  • The SaeboGlove is designed for both individuals that have experienced a neurological injury such as stroke as well as orthopaedic injuries such as radial nerve palsy.
  • Clients that demonstrate arm and hand weakness (wrist drop/unable to open hand) and are unable to use their hand to perform everyday tasks are great candidates for this device.
  • The onset of the injury does not prevent someone from receiving Saebo treatment. Whether the client just had a stroke or orthopaedic injury, or if he or she suffered an injury years ago, the SaeboGlove can be of great benefit.
  • A licensed therapist will evaluate the client to make sure he or she meets the criteria before starting.
  • In order to qualify for the SaeboGlove, clients must be able to close or squeeze their hand minimally. In addition, clients must have minimal to no tightness or spasticity in the fingers or wrist.

Clients that may not be appropriate for the SaeboGlove typically exhibit one or more of the below:

  • Severe joint deformities in the hand or elbow.

The Saebo Story

In 2001...
Two occupational therapists had one simple, but powerful goal - to provide neurological clients access to transformative and life changing products.

At the time, treatment options for improving arm and hand function were limited. The technology that did exist was expensive and inaccessible for home use. With inadequate therapy options often leading to unfavourable outcomes, health professionals routinely told their clients that they have "reached a plateau" or "no further gains can be made". The founders believed that it was not the clients who had plateaued, but rather their treatment options had plateaued.

Saebo's commitment - "No Plateau in Sight" - was inspired by this mentality; and the accessible, revolutionary solutions began.

Saebo's revolutionary product offering was based on the latest advances in rehabilitation research. From the SaeboFlex which allows clients to incorporate their hand functionally in therapy or at home, to the SaeboMAS, an unweighting device used to assist the arm during daily living tasks and exercise training, "innovation" and "affordability" can now be used in the same sentence.

Over the last ten years, Saebo has grown into a leading global provider of rehabilitative products created through the unrelenting leadership and the strong network of clinicians around the world. As we celebrate our history and helping more than 100,000 clients regain function, we are growing this commitment to affordability and accessibility even further by making our newest, most innovative products more accessible than ever.
